Wasel Phone — Privacy policy

The privacy policy for Wasel Phone.

Last updated: 11 October 2026

1Scope

This policy explains how Wasel handles data in Wasel Phone, covering the Android app (sa.wasel.phone), SIP softphones on computers, the dashboard and the unified number service. It supplements Wasel's general privacy policy.

When your company uses our services, your company is responsible for its customers' and employees' data, and Wasel processes that data on its behalf and under its instructions.

2Data we process

  • Sign-in data: extension number, password (stored encrypted on the device) and display name.
  • Call records: numbers, date and time, duration, status (incoming, outgoing, missed) and extension.
  • Call recordings and voicemail, when enabled by your company.
  • Phone contacts: read on your device only to show caller names and suggestions; they are not uploaded to our servers.
  • Device and network data needed to connect calls and measure quality (such as IP address and connection type).

3App permissions

We only ask for these permissions when needed, and you can turn them off in your device settings:

  • Microphone: to make and receive calls.
  • Contacts: to show caller names and call from your contacts (kept on the device).
  • Notifications and full-screen intent: to show incoming calls, even on the lock screen.
  • Background service and call management: so it rings when closed and reconnects when the network changes.
  • Bluetooth: to use wireless headsets during calls.

4How we use data

  • To provide, operate and support the service.
  • To send the notifications you choose.
  • For security, abuse prevention and troubleshooting.
  • For billing and legal obligations.

5No tracking, no ads

We don't sell data, use it for advertising, or track you across other companies' apps or websites, and our apps contain no advertising trackers.

6Sharing

We share data only as needed to provide the service or where the law requires:

  • Licensed telecom carriers, to route external calls and the unified number.
  • Google Firebase Cloud Messaging, to wake the app for incoming calls.

7Storage and security

Data is stored on servers operated by Wasel or by hosting providers we contract with under appropriate protection obligations.

We use encrypted connections (TLS), access controls and backups.

Call records and recordings are kept for the period your company sets or that the law requires, then deleted.

8Account and data deletion

To request deletion of your Wasel Phone account and its associated data, email support@wasel.sa from the address on the account, or ask your company's account admin. We confirm the request and delete the data within 30 days, unless the law requires us to keep some of it (such as billing records).

9Your rights

Under applicable law, including Saudi Arabia's Personal Data Protection Law, you may request access to, correction of and deletion of your data, and withdraw consent.

10Children

The service is for businesses and their staff and is not directed at anyone under 18.
